Spring Break 2010 - Munich

We set forth for Munich early on Good Friday morning.  As we took in the enormous security lines at Stansted Airport, we learned that Good Friday is the British equivalent of the Day Before Thanksgiving, so Jeff felt validated for getting to the airport super early.  Our travel party was double the size it usually is, as we were joined by the Neubergers - Jeff's sister Jen, her husband Phil, and their two darlings Sophie (6) and Ben (4).

While Jeff was sad that we weren't picking up a BMW this time in Munich, we were happy that we had a lot more free time to explore and enjoy this beautiful city.  On our first day, we strolled around Marienplatz, and ate a sumptuous Bavarian lunch at Andechser am Dom.  The owner of the restaurant, Sepp Kratz, was eager to show off his newborn baby son and graciously presented Jen and Larissa with silk scarves as presents.  After filling up on sausages, wiener schnitzel, steak and beer, we proceeded to Maelu, where Jen and Jeff bought an obscene amount of pastries.  A good first day, indeed.
