Garmisch - Skiing and Sledding at Hausberg

Alex tried skiing for the first time at Hausberg, located on the Garmisch-Classic side of the Zugspitze.  After Sophie graciously helped Alex with her "astronaut boots," the Neubergers set off for the top of the Zugspitze while the Brit-Tans caught the Hausberg cable car and headed off to the Kinder Land.  Jeff and Kieran rode up the magic carpet and sledded down over and over while Larissa helped get Alex used to her skis.  By the third time down the kiddie slope, Alex was feeling more confident and comfortable.   We took a lunch break at the ski lodge (complete with Jagerschnitzel, beer, and spaghetti bolognese with fresh Italian parsley and parmigiano-reggiano...only in Europe).  While Jeff and the kids were finishing their lunches, Larissa took in a couple of runs by herself.  After lunch, Larissa and Alex went down the bunny hill together several more times before Alex tried sledding with Jeff.  Next time we go skiing, Kieran wants to give it a try, too!
