Paris - Musee du Louvre

The Louvre really does have something (or, rather, many things) for everyone.  The museum itself is a beautiful work of art with incredible marble floors in intricate patterns, complicated ceilings, millions of windows and a different surprise around every corner.  We all enjoyed viewing the paintings and sculptures very much.

After a long morning at the Louvre, we had lunch at the famous Cafe Angelina.  Jeff and Kieran shared the blanquette du veau (veal stew) with rice, Alex loved her broccoli quiche, and Larissa had a club sandwich.  Everyone had a lot of the notorious hot chocolate, which was a thick, gooey drink served in a pitcher.  After pouring some chocolate into our cups, we then added a dollop of Chantilly cream (freshly whipped cream) on top and sailed in.  It was heaven, pure bliss.  Jeff also had a Cafe Viennois, which was black coffee served in a tall ice cream glass and topped with a mountain of whipped cream.

We then walked through the Jardin des Tuileries in an attempt to help Jeff out with his severe tummy ache.  "Oh come on, you can't take me to the best hot chocolate place in the world and not expect this to happen!"  Well, at least only one of us fell on that sword.
