We took a lunch break at the Cutter Inn in Ely. Cutter Inn consists of two establishments, a fancy restaurant and an informal pub. For some reason, the hostess thought we'd be better off in the fancy restaurant with cushioned seats, white tablecloths, fresh flowers, and Vivaldi playing in the background. The children were delighted when our server swept away the grown up menus and place settings and returned with special designer children's cutlery and a menu written on a person-shaped blackboard. Alex loved her extra-cheesy cheddar and parmesan mac and cheese, while Kieran marveled at the boats that passed by (along with a man on a riding mower). Jeff and Larissa especially enjoyed the fish n chips which consisted of enormous steak fries and a large, fresh fillet that someone left the skin on and just threw in the fryer. Mmmmm! 
After lunch, Kieran
terrorized a poor duck by chasing it around the parking lot. Note the BMW M3. 
Yesterday we had the fortune of stumbling upon the last few minutes of the twice-weekly Bury St. Edmunds Farmers Market. Best cheddar cheese ever!

So much fun to read about your adventure. Dad and I are clearing the last of the "baby peaches", nectarines, and late harvest oranges.
