National Museum of Scotland and National Gallery

The National Museum of Scotland has a little bit of everything.  Art, science, gloves of armor for trying on, catapults for shooting...and a rooftop terrace from where you can see all around and take marvelous pictures.

The National Gallery Complex is a series of 3 historic buildings, and houses paintings and sculptures from all over Europe.  Unfortunately, the Impressionist Gardens exhibit was coming to the Gallery 2 days after we left, but we managed to catch some beautiful Monet, Degas and Pissaro pictures anyway.  Alex and Kieran probably enjoyed their vanilla ice creams with homemade raspberry sauce at the museum cafe the most, though!
