Today Isleham held its annual Gala. Each year, the village has a parade (complete with kilted bagpiping band) and fair with contests, games and food. Highlights included a reptile exhibit (Kieran's favorite, a bargain at 50 pence), a swing ride that Alex particularly loved, a tour aboard the Cambridgeshire County firefighting truck, and a visit to the ice cream truck for Cadbury Flake cones. Jeff loved washing down his British cheeseburgers with cider. Larissa thought that the homemade doughnuts were pretty tasty.
Alex won first prize in the school's handwriting competition. You can see her winning entry for Reception Girls. Our next door neighbor, Alfie Anderson, won first prize for Reception Boys, so our little cul-de-sac was well-represented at this year's Gala!

1. That's a serious ice cream goatee that Alex has
2. Its clear that Alex's penmanship takes after Larry, not Jeff.
3. Kieran looks like he's auditioning for "Snakes on a Plane 2."
=)
