The Brit-Tans Take on France...Day One

(Warning:  Blog followers have requested much detail of the Paris Saga, for research and vicarious thrills purposes.  Each day will be covered in a separate entry.)

This past week found the Brit-Tans invading France by way of the EuroTunnel.  We drove Jean Grey (Jeff's car) right onto a train and stayed in the car while the train took us under the Channel.  35 minutes later, we saw daylight again and I asked, "Are we really in France?"  The road signs in French and the motorists traveling on the right-hand side of the road indicated that we, indeed, were.

A couple of hours later, we pulled up to the Disneyland Hotel at the Disneyland Paris Resort.  Kieran quipped, "It's quite pink."  This was a severe understatement.  (See picture above of pink building with Mickey clock).  A bellman in a cream colored night cap and salmon pink knickerbockers with cream knee socks greeted us, whisked our bags away and parked our car.  The next thing we knew, we were in Fantasyland touring Sleeping Beauty's castle, riding Lancelot's carousel and whizzing on those famous teacups.  Jeff was delighted to discover that the beignets were filled with Nutella.  That evening, we dined at Cafe Mickey in Disney Village, where approximately 15 characters came by for hugs and hellos while we ate (and some of us drank Bordeaux and champagne).  Kieran was terrified of Baloo, but soon realized the potential for fun when Tigger and others came along.
