The Big 3

During our Devon vacation, young Kieran turned 3!  We spent the day riding on a real steam engine on the South Devon Railway.  It was very "Harry Potter," or "Murder on the Orient Express," with the steam billowing in the sky as we sat on plush seats in our very own little windowed compartment.  To break up the train ride, we visited the Totnes Rare Breeds Farm (that's right, more chickens and goats) where Alex discovered the joy of pelting animals with food instead of actually feeding them.  In the evening, Kieran requested a spaghetti dinner which was topped off with a turbo race car cake.  (You can see our fancy digs at Royal Navy base housing in Plymouth).

Yay! Happy birthday big guy!

I love how Alex learned about the joys of pelting animals...was it those petting zoo pellets?

And how are you sure the car cake was a turbo? Well, I guess the grill looks like a front mount intercooler...

Before reading the "1 comment" posted on this, I somehow had a feeling that it would have been left by Uncle Prentice, commenting on how proud he was of Alex pelting the animals....

Looks like everyone had tons of fun. If you want to, you can pelt some scones and cream this way...

Happy belated! Love following your posts and seeing your children become oh so proper (including the pellet popping).
